Nightmare. The game that started it all. Using a video tape both as host and timer, you where required to treat the video as if it was a real person as you played the simple board game and attempted to collect keys that would unlock the path to the center of the game board. Upon arriving there you picked up one of the Nightmare cards and read it aloud. If it was not the one you had filled out at the start of the game you stopped the tape and were declared the winner. As simple as it was, it instantly became a cult classic and for a brief time was a popular favorite around Halloween. In some the host was played by a different actor.

The first of the add-ons for Nightmare. Nightmare 2 pitted players against a fast talking, and offtimes humorous, Zombie host. It was a bit less scary then the first game, but was still loads of fun. The add-on contained a new video tape, and new sets of Time and Fate cards.

The second add-on, Nightmare 3 was more a bit more like Nightmare itself when in terms of scare factor. It also sported new video, Time, and Fate cards. It was also the first game in the series that allowed you to roll two dice for movement and some of the 'games' the host would put the players through. An added feature of the game, was the ability to cast spells by collecting both halves of the right spell.

The third and last of the original add-ons, Nightmare 4 is the most difficult game in the entire Nightmare/Atmosfear series. Players often end up as vampires, unable to win the game while still a vampire, but now able to hunt the other players and turn them into vampires as well. The game also came with new video, Time, and Fate cards and a new type of card known as the Black Rose and a sticker for the gameboard on which to place them. Oddly enough, Atmosfear 4 also came with a new set of Chance cards, while Nightmare 4 didn't.

Advertised at the end of Nightmare 4, this add-on was never released as the game creators felt it was time the game was remade to increase sales. It's rumored that some copies were leaked out somehow, but this has never been confirmed. In fact, the logo above is an artist's attempt to create what he thought the logo would look like.
